Evolution Items
Evolution Items can be used to induce evolution on a Pokémon who is compatible with that evolution item.
When it comes to learning moves, it will only learn the moves that are listed for the evolution. However, an evolved Pokémon is still capable of learning its pre-evolution's moves via Playerdex if it has fulfilled that pre-evolution's level requirement for the move; modifying your Pokémon's attacks will cost 500 PokéMoney multiplied by its level.
GMs or DEVs will not revert the evolution if you aren't happy with it.

Evolutionary Stones
Most evolutionary stones can be purchased at the Celadon City Department Store or Goldenrod City Department Store for a price of
2,100 PokéMoney. The only evolution stones sold elsewhere are Moon Stones (locations specified below), which currently sell for
10,000 PokéMoney each.
Fire Stone
Locations:
Evolves:
Growlithe: Ideally you may want to evolve it at level 56, after it learned its last move - Flare Blitz. Once it evolves, you can go to the Playerdex and teach it Extremespeed.
Vulpix: You may want to evolve it after level 37, when it learns Flamethrower. Otherwise, you may want to evolve it after level 54 if you want it to learn Fire Blast.
Eevee: If it is desirable to learn Last Resort, it may be optimal to evolve Eevee at level 50, whereafter it learns the move. After evolving to Flareon, you may wish to go to the Playerdex to teach it some extra Fire-type moves.
Water Stone

Evolves:
- Poliwhirl into Poliwrath.
- Shellder into Cloyster.
- Staryu into Starmie.

Shellder: If you want to learn Spikes and Spike Cannon, evolve it at level 35. Otherwise, evolve it after level 50 (when Shellder learns Ice Beam).
Staryu: If you want Confuse Ray, evolve it at level 32. Otherwise, evolve it after level 46 to enable it to learn Hydro Pump.
Lombre: Ludicolo will not learn any new moves, so you are advised not to evolve Lombre until after level 49, which is when it learns Hydro Pump.
Eevee: If it is desirable to learn Last Resort via level-up, it may be optimal to evolve Eevee at level 50, whereafter it learns the move. After evolving to Vaporeon, you may wish to go to the Playerdex to teach it some extra Water-type moves.
Thunderstone
Locations:
Evolves:
Pikachu: Raichu will not learn any new moves, so you are advised not to evolve Pikachu until after level 50, which is when it learns Thunder.
Eevee: Raise Eevee to level 50 so that it can learn Last Resort. After evolving to Jolteon, you may wish to go to the Playerdex to teach it some extra Electric-type moves.

Weepinbell: Victreebel will not learn any new moves, so you are advised not to evolve Weepinbell until after level 54, which is when it learns Slam.
Exeggcute: If you want Stomp, Egg Bomb and Leafstorm, evolve at level 18; if you want Solarbeam and Psychic, evolve after level 47.

Held Evolution Items
Due to the lack of ability for Pokémon to equip items in PWO, held items - that induced evolution upon trade in the Nintendo games - function identically to evolution stones in PWO; you have to select the item from your bag pack, and select what Pokémon to use it on when prompted.
These items are currently not purchasable from NPC vendors, but they can be purchased on the Token Store, or bundled together with a Pokémon purchase in the Prize Corner. Additionally, the Dragon Scale and Metal Coats are known to be an occasional drop from Pokémon in the Horsea and Magnemite evolution lines, respectively.
For items that are redeemed from the Prize Corner, they are only tied to the Pokémon it's bundled with, and not inducible for any other Pokémon with that particular item. For example, if a Shiny Stone is co-purchased with Togetic, then it's only usable on Togepi; not any other Pokémon, even if they were compatible with it in the handheld games.
