Ilex Forest is located between Goldenrod City and Azalea Town together with Route 34. This forest is full of Bug and Grass-type Pokémon, and has a small water area where Water type pokemon can be found.
Ilex Forest Quest are also available for players to start in this location, which gives you reward based on what region you started upon completion the quest.
Points of Interest
Pineco used to be a Horribly Rare Pokémon that was only catchable in this forest, but now it is also found in the Johto Safari. Politoed is a Tier 5 rarity pokemon which can only be encountered here. Ilex Forest Quest is required to be complete if you are a Johto Starter. It's an optional quest for Kanto Starters.
