An old man is blocking the route north near the start of the Ilex Forest, and upon speaking to him, he will ask you to do him a favor. His Farfetch'd's leek went missing, which caused him to become sick, and he implores that you to hunt for it in the underbrush in the forest.
NOTE: You are only required to do this quest if you started in Johto. This quest is optionally completable for those who started in Kanto, but it is completely bypassable to them if they elect to do so.
Walkthrough
To search for the leek, enter an underbrush by pressing the space bar in front of the small trees within the section of the forest; there will be one tree with a hollow space behind it, which will allow you to access the underbrush. Once you have entered the underbrush, interact with the darker shaded bush within the area (by pressing space bar) to find a leek. Return to the old man and present him the leek; if it is not the right leek, you may have to search through a different underbresh, which will be accessible through a different small tree this time around.
If you have showed the old man the right leek, you will be permitted to proceed to the next section of the forest. If you have also obtained the Hive Badge, you may proceed all the way to Goldenrod City.
