Attack/Defence Scroll

These two scrolls are obtained by completing the quiz at the Training Dojo located within Saffron City. For the Attack Scroll, you will need to choose Attack Scroll for the final answer in the quiz. For the Defence Scroll, you need to choose Defence Scroll for the final answer. Each scroll allows you to access a different side of the Splitting River Reserve (Attack to the left, Defence to the right). On the left side, players can find Hitmonlee. On the right side, players can find Hitmonchan.

Dragon Scale

Allows you to evolve a Seadra into a Kingdra, in the same way as evolution stones are used. The item can be gained by completely the Whirl Island quest. There is also a small chance that a player will loot the item after battling a wild Horsea or Seadra.

Secret Lab Key

The key can be gained by completing the Science Lab quest. It allows you to enter the Water labs based in Saffron City.

Train Pass

The train pass can be obtained by completeing the Kanto Train Quest or Johto Train Quest. It allows you to board the Magnet Train, which runs between Goldenrod City and Saffron City. Either quest requires a Marsh Badge and a Plain Badge to start.

User bought items

Bicycles

At a cost of $500,000 - the Bicycle allows you to ride around most towns rather than choosing to walk. You can buy it from either Cerulean City or Goldenrod City. Riding the Bicyle requires an Earth Badge from Viridian City (if Kanto is your starting region) or a Rising Badge from Blackthorn City (if Johto is your starting region).

Riding the Bicycle allows you to move at proper speed in both directions when on Route 17 (Cycling Road); and also slightly speeds up movement in other areas.

Evolution Stones

There are various evolution stones types to allow you to edit your Pokémon moves. All stones cost $15,000. To use the stone, just click on it from your backpack when not in a battle.

Old Rod

For the cost of $10,000 you could be fishing around the waters of Kanto and Johto for Pokémon that are only catchable in the water. You can check your fishing level by clicking on the "Trainer" button on the client. It's available to buy from Vermilion City in Kanto, or in the Pokemon Center on Route 32 in Johto. Further information on fishing is available here.

Wind Surfboard

At a cost of $200,000 - the surfboards allows you to ride the waves. You can either buy it from Route 19 in Kanto or Olivine City in Johto.

Other items

Kanto/Johto Passport

You collect your Kanto or Johto Passport when coming from Starters Island. The passport is used to help decide what level gym leaders you face.

Metal Coat

Currently, Metal Coat can be used to evolve Onix into Steelix and Scyther into Scizor. There is a small chance that a player will obtain a Metal Coat when defeating a Magnemite in the wild. Metal Coats can also be obtained by trading for one with another player.

Soothe Bell

The Soothe Bell is an evolution item, used to replace happiness-based evolutions for Pokémon that would usually evolve when leveled up with high happiness. Due to the current lack of support for multi-line evolutions, the Soothe Bell can not evolve Eevee at this time, among other Pokémon who have alternate evolutions that are required to evolve by that method.

On September 9, 2011, it was announced in a forums thread that the Soothe Bell was in game - Additionally, it was also announced that members, at that time, who were active since the 1rst of June, 2011, would receive a Soothe Bell, in addition to 7 tokens and 2 random evolution stones. It is also possible to obtain Sooth Bell via a Staff-hosted event.

On October 7, 2011, a revision of the Token Store allowed for players to purchase the Soothe Bell for a total of 3 Tokens. As of now. Soothe Bell only evolves Golbat, Chansey, Pichu, Cleffa, Igglybuff, and Togepi.
