Pallet Town is the first town you start in if you pick Kanto. In Professor Oak's lab, you will be able to choose from one of the three starters, which are: Bulbasaur, the grass-type Pokemon; Charmander, the fire-type Pokemon; or Squirtle, the water-type Pokemon. You can also enter into all the houses and talk to all the NPCs there, as well as the ones outside.
