Squirtle is one of six possible starters that players may choose from after leaving Starters Island. To obtain a Squirtle as a starter Pokémon, it is required to start from the Kanto region. Squirtle is a full Water-type Pokemon. The three stages of Squirtle's evolution is Squirtle -> Wartortle -> to Blastoise. Squirtle evolves into Wartortle at Level 16, and Wartortle evolves into Blastoise when achieving Level --. Squirtle is super effective against Pewter Gym Leader, Brock, but balanced against Misty, the Cerulean Gym Leader.
