Talk:Broken Moves
Table Format
This is how the tables for each individual list are done on this page:
Each table is started with the following:
{| border="1" border-width: 0 1px 1px 0" cellpadding="5px" width="100%"
|- style="color: rgb(255, 255, 255);" bgcolor="#0099cc"
|'''Move Name'''
|'''Why it's broken'''
...and ended with:
|}
To add a new entry, first look to see where it should be added (the tables are in alphabetical order). Then edit the page, and look for the entry that would be after it. Before that entry, place this:
|-
This means "start a new row".
Underneath this, on separate lines, type the move's name, then a description of why it's broken, both preceded by |. Then save, and you're done!
Here's an example entry:
|- |Acid Armor |Is wrongly treated as a normal attack by the game. Does small damage to the opponent, when it should not damage at all, and does not raise user's defence like it's supposed to.
I hope this makes sense!
First List
Is the list currently on the page an updated one? I believe Agility has been added into the game and I'm fairly certain that Defense Curl does work correctly now. There are a few other mistakes I've seen with a quick skim (at least I think they are mistakes), so I'm curious as to when this list was updated. For the Pokémon pages that I've created, I've been using the list compiled by a few members of the community, which is located at http://forum.playerdex.com/Index.php/tracker/issue-1255-broken-moves/. The list compiled there, while it might not be complete itself, seems more accurate than the one currently posted. Tenfold 01:08, 24 November 2010 (GMT)
- As it says on the top, I make no vouch for the list's accuracy. The list so far is copied from the old Wiki, which may no longer be accurate, but is much more comprehensive than the one you have linked to - and actually explains HOW the moves were broken.
- It is actually impossible to check what moves are actually broken while the game is down, so I will not be able to ensure the accuracy of this list until it returns. For now, I am mainly trying to just get the article on the Wiki and properly formatted for it, so that it can be easily added to and corrected at a later date. Of course, if anyone is SURE they know of moves that DO work, they are welcome to correct it themselves - I already have made a significant amount of alterations to the old list as per my own knowledge. --Jinji, The Human Gengar (talk|contribs) 22:37, 25 November 2010 (GMT)
