Because I wanted PWO to have a MediaWiki-powered Wiki from the start, and I'm glad to see one is actually being made now. I actually have experience with MediaWiki, and in fact used it to power Gamerpedia back when it was up (it actually still is, but on a test server which I currently am not working on).
Can I also add, on the Move Set template, why not just bold STAB moves, and italicize broken moves, or something like that? I think it has more visual impact. Of course, you should still explain what the formatting means...
