Hide and Seek is a randomly occurring Staff VS Player event which happens when a staff member is online and feels like playing. The objective of the game is to find a staff member which is hiding somewhere in either the Kanto region or the Jhoto region by following clues which are given by the staff members. Players who win the round of Hide and Seek, receive points. The person with the most points after every month, and end of the year, receive prizes.

Gameplay

When the game begins it will be announced over the All channel or a system message. Players are then to join the HideAndSeek chat Channel so they don't spam up the ALL channel. Players will attempt to seek out the hiding staff member by using the clues the staff member gives them. The staff member will announce the event, and find a place to hide. Once hidden, they will then give the players their first clue: their region. From there, the staff will wait 5 minutes, if they are not found, they will give another clue as to their location. This will be repeated until the staff member is found. Or, in the event they are not found after the 5th clue, will be considered a loss. If a player finds the staff member, they will be awarded points according to how long it took them to find the staff member.

The winner of the event is the first player to come across the screen of the staff member and say "I found you" in the Hide and Seek channel, or the global channel.

Staff may not hide in any place which requires a quest or areas that are only accessible to players from certain regions. The following areas are places where the staff may not hide, Any Part of the Starters island, Mt. Silver/Route 28, Dragons Den, Cerulean Cave, Viridian Forrest Clearing, Hidden Crag, and both Safari Zones. If you feel as though I forgot a location feel free to let me know.

Special Games

Along with the regular type of Hide and Seek, a Staff member may opt out to play a different sort of Hide and Seek which have different sort of time limits and prizes. Some special games may only be performed once a day while other may only be performed with multiple staff members.

Daily Double

In this Game, the players must find the staff member with a time limit of 10 minutes. They will only recieve two clues, the staff members region, and an additional clue of the staff members choice. This winner of this round will receive a total of 10 points no matter at what time he or she found the staff member. This game may only be performed once a day.

Rapid Fire

Like the Daily Double, this round will only last 10 minutes. Players will only be given two clues, the region and an additional clue of the staff members choice, usually an easy one. Any and all players who find the staff member will receive one point.

Subtraction By Minute

A less played game of Hide and seek, Subtraction By Minute last a total of 10 minutes. From the start of the round, the players reward points start at 10, however for every minute that passes, 1 point is removed from the potential earned points. There is no indicator as to how many clues a staff member may give for this round.

The Dual

This Game requires two staff members to play. The game will be played as a regular hide and seek except with both members, however each member will hide in different regions. Players will hunt until one staff member is found, if and when a player finds one of the staff members, he or she is given 10 minutes to find the second staff member for double the points. In the event both staff members are found at the same time, both players then race to find the other staff member

Weekly Blitz

This game only takes 10 minutes. Players will be given clues on the 3ed and 7th minute of the game. If nobody is able to find the staff member, the staff will earn 20 points, if there is a winner to the round, the winner will receive 15 points. This game can only be performed one time a week.

Trivia Challenge

This is the hardest of the Special Hide and Seek games, but also one of the more interesting one. This game will last a maximum of 20 minutes. Players will be given 4 clues(first being the region) at 5 minute intervals. If there is a winner, they will receive 10 points. Once a player finds and PMs the hiding staff member, they will be asked 1 question about PWO or Pokemon in general, with a 1 minute time limit to answer. If they guess right they receive 10 points, if wrong the staff member moves to another location (in the same region) and starts over with the time reduced by 5 minutes(first move 15 minutes, second 10, third 5) and the clues reduced by 1. If the staff member is not found or the question is answered wrong all 4 times the staff wins the 10 points. This game can be performed up to 3 times a day.

Special Double Points Games

Any game may be made into a Special Double Points Game. The staff may do this whenever they please but are advised to not overdue it (1-3 times a day) If there is a winner to the game, the player will receive double the points, if there is no winner the staff will receive the normal amount of points.

Prizes and Points

Points are accumulated for the monthly, and yearly competition. Each month, there is a new prize awarded to the players that obtain the most points. However, there is a catch. In order to receive the prize, the players score MUST be higher than the staffs score, otherwise, they receive the prize. Prizes in the past have consisted of rare pokemon, and even 4th Generation pokemon.

For a regular game the points are as follows.
