Evolution Items

Evolution Items can be used to induce evolution on a Pokémon who is compatible with that evolution item.

When it comes to learning moves, most Pokemon that evolve with the help of items have a different level-up moveset compared to its evolved form and thus might not learn the move you want it to have anymore. However, an evolved Pokémon is still capable of learning its pre-evolution's moves via Playerdex if it has fulfilled that pre-evolution's level requirement for the move; modifying your Pokémon's attacks will cost a Pokédollar fee dependent on its level.

GMs or DEVs will not revert the evolution if you aren't happy with it.

Evolutionary Stones

Most evolutionary stones can be purchased at the Celadon City Department Store or Goldenrod City Department Store for a price of 2,100 PokéMoney. The only evolution stones sold elsewhere are Moon Stones (locations specified below), which currently sell for 10,000 PokéMoney each. Most stones can also be purchased in the PlayerDex Token Store for varying prices depending on the stone.

Dawn Stone

Dusk Stone

Locations:

• Route 12 - Random drop by Gloom and Murkrow (spawns in night-time only)

Fire Stone

Leaf Stone

These items are currently not purchasable from NPC vendors, but they can be purchased on the Token Store, or in the Prize Corner. Additionally, the Dragon Scale and Metal Coats are known to be an occasional drop from Pokémon in the Horsea and Magnemite evolution lines, respectively.

Dragon Scale

Dubious Disc

King's Rock

Location(s):

• Fainting or catching a wild Politoed, however catching it does not guarantee the King's Rock.

• Poliwhirl into Politoed.

In-battle Effect:

• Has a 10% chance of causing the target Pokémon to flinch when using a move that deals damage and does not already have a chance to flinch.

Metal Coat

Location(s):

• Wild Magnemite, Magneton, and Steelix drop.

• Boosts the power of Steel-type moves by 20% when held.

Prism Scale

Protector

Location(s):

Razor Claw

Location(s):

• A reward from the 2014 Christmas event.
• A reward from the 2019 Christmas event.
• Purchasable in the 2021 Christmas event.

In-battle Effect:

• Raises the critical hit ratio of the holder.

Razor Fang

Location(s):

• A reward from the 2014 Haloween event.
• An item drop from the 2020 Starly swarm.
• Purchasable in the 2021 Christmas event.

• Gligar into Gliscor.

In-battle Effect:

Reaper Cloth
