Goldenrod City is located in Johto. It is North of Route 34, South of Route 35. It is the home to Whitney. It is the location of the 3rd Johto Gym. It is also one of the two cities which have a Pokémon Center with a Union Room which allows players to trade. In addition, Goldenrod City also have Johto Train Quest, and it was involved in part of the Dragons Den Quest too.

Train Station

Main Article: Train System

One of the 5 transportation points, centered on the train system, is stationed in Goldenrod City. The train runs between 5 designated locations in: Cherrygrove City, Saffron City, Viridian City, and Silver Town. At least 8 badges are required to board the train, in addition to a Transportation Ticket or a validly active Train Pass; these are sold by ticket sellers, found in any train station.

The train is considered the most fastest and most convenient method of travel, wherein it is also the only instantaneous transportation method between both regions.

Union Room

The 2nd Floor of the Goldenrod Pokécenter contains a Union Room which allows people to trade.

Goldenrod City Department Store

The Goldenrod City Department Store is the biggest building in Goldenrod City, it contains 4 floors and features many items that players can buy.

Goldenrod Tunnel

An underground tunnel spans from the southwestern side of the city to the northwestern side. The southwestern entrance is situated diagonally southwest of the city's Pokémon Center.

The underground path currently plays a big role in the Dragons Den Quest, as it contains a quest point in the Dragon Club which players must access for a few of the quest's tasks.

Goldenrod City Gym

Goldenrod City's Gym uses primarily Normal-Type Pokémon.

You need to defeat the Goldenrod Gym Leader Whitney in order to receive the Plain Badge and move on to the 4th Johto Gym in Ecruteak City.

Like all gyms in Pokémon World Online, the levels of the trainers inside the gym depend on the type of passport a player has. Those with a Johto Passport will battle lower-level trainers while those with a Kanto Passport will battle higher-level trainers.
